Main features of the position:

Waldorf Cambridge is looking for an inspiring, enthusiastic and committed individual to teach Eurythmy. The Eurythmy teacher is responsible for teaching children between the ages of 5 and 16 years. As well as being a fully trained Eurythmist, the Eurythmy teacher will have a deep interest in Waldorf education and its curriculum, with a proven ability to relate to and inspire children, and an excellent ability to communicate and cooperate with colleagues and parents.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching Duties:

• To take overall responsibility for the Eurythmy curriculum including curriculum development and integration, including updating and reviewing relevant documentation
• To prepare and deliver eurythmy lessons at a pace suitable to the children’s age and development, based on a deep understanding of Waldorf pedagogy/child development
• To lead and inspire the children, maintaining good discipline, following the school behaviour policy and holding boundaries assertively, developing children’s confidence and ensuring that effective learning can take place in the class.
• To monitor and evaluate pupils’ work.
• To keep appropriate records for the children’s files.
• To support, under the direction of the class teachers, SENDCo and professionals, the education and welfare of pupils
• To manage the budget for materials and resources

To take overall responsibility for the classes including:

• teaching, supervising, managing and assessing the pupils
• liaising with colleagues and parents
• record keeping and report writing in accordance with statutory and school requirements
• To undertake appropriate preparation, study and training as necessary both for the effective delivery of the lessons/curriculum and to advance the school's ethos and objectives
• To maintain the teaching space
• To attend weekly school staff meetings
• To develop and present workshops and lectures for parents and the wider community
• To prepare and review risk assessments relating to the curriculum
• To meet with the class teachers to plan and coordinate lessons / learning activities

General Duties:

• To support the school's ethos, principles and objectives
• To be available for supply teaching in the Lower School
• To ensure that all resources and materials are prepared for class use
• To attend out of school hours meetings, such as parent evenings, when necessary
• To attend school and staff meetings as necessary
• To participate in work, study and training days during school holidays and as required
• To be familiar with all school policies and rules, and in particular to ensure that the Health and Safety Policy is followed
• To participate in the appraisal of own work performance and contribute to peer appraisals and observations
